In 2009, I enacted a guerrilla rocket launch at the HAARP research compound. HAARP (High-Frequency Active Auroral Research Program) is a US Air Force research installation that hosts multiple electromagnetic experiments—most notably the ionosopheric super heater antenna array that is several times larger than a football field. Source of conspiracy theories from President Chavez claiming it caused the Haitian earthquake to patent holders claiming its Tesla Ray Gun potential, the operation has existed since at least 1996. Deep in the Alaskan interior, the compound is a restricted zone but hosts a public website and webcam views of the site. Of course, the experiments occur in the invisible electromagnetic realm questioning the pseudo-transparency of the military’s operation. The actual operation is shrouded in confusion and government rhetoric, leading more calculated hypotheses to postulate about ground penetrating radar or deep sea communication with submarines to satellite communication disruption or a modified version of the Reagan Star Wars initiative. With its most likely plural intentions, HAARP is the modern day interpolation of Hothian Warfare in the Arctic started with the Distant Early Warning (DEW) Line in 1954.
